He was the announcer and pitchman (for the sponsor Grove's Bromo
Quinine Cold Tablets) on "The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes", a
radio series broadcast between 1940 and 1942, which starred Basil
Rathbone and Nigel Bruce in the roles of Sherlock Holmes and Dr.
Watson, which they had previously played in the 1939 films "The Hound
of the Baskervilles" and "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes". That same
year, Rathbone and Bruce would begin starring in a new series of
Sherlock Holmes films made by Universal.
