Overnight (1986): I was the beneficiary of pay-per-view Canada and its launch. In the late 1980s I flew out to Toronto for a business meeting at the pay-television head-office and I took my library because they were looking for titles. The acquisitions manager wanted to buy the rights to a film and offered $50,000...So I told him I'd have to think about it. I went to the pub and had a pint, returned, and told him I wanted $150,000... He agreed and wrote the check. To this day I call that experience my 'hundred-thousand dollar glass of beer', because if I didn't walk away and think about it over a pint, I'd have probably taken the $50k.
