Best known as playing Maturette in Papillon (1973). He's a prisoner who escapes with title character Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman. Deman's character is homosexual, and the performance is groundbreaking as he's portrayed as being equally strong and brave as the others, without the usual gay-stereotypes/mannerisms, common in the era.
