She acted in John Gay's play, "The Beggar's Opera," at the Aldwych Theatre in London, England in a Royal Shakespeare Company production with Derek Godfrey, Michael Williams, Gareth Morgan, Dorothy Tutin, Malcolm Rivers, Darien Angadi, Denise Coffey, Elizabeth Spriggs, Patience Collier, and Virginia McKenna in the cast. Peter Wood was director.
She was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the 1946 King's Birthday Honours List for her services to the Merchant Navy during World War II.
