The 1991 album, "Temple of the Dog", was made in tribute to Wood by the members of
Soundgarden and
Pearl Jam (two of whom played with him in
Mother Love Bone). The tribute was an idea of Wood's friend
Chris Cornell, and the album sold over 1 million copies.
Alice in Chains' "Would?" was also written for Wood.
