When auditioning for his role in Superman Returns (2006), Tony was not the selected extra for the part. The original casting was deemed too similar to the lead actor Brandon Routh & thus the director/ producer decided on Tony as he looked less super & more medical.
After his marriage in 2018, his new surname is actually "Rocha Newton" taking the double surname tradition of his Brazillian wife.
