Ammie joined the Air Force out of high school. She spent 5 1/2 years in Northern Japan before moving back to the States in 2005. While serving in Japan, she joined the base Theater Guild. Ammie also appeared in several commercials for the hospital on base, and Co-hosted a weekly R&B/ Hip Hop radio show Titled "The Show".
