Just after high school, Monty Wolfe wrote a stage musical that was being produced by Bernie Tiede, the real-life subject of Richard Linklater's 2011 dark comedy film, Bernie. The show was to be work-shopped at a theater in New Mexico, but Bernie was arrested before anything was staged.
