Golden Globes 2024 — Best Cinematic & Box Office Achievement

In 2024, the Golden Globe Awards introduces two new categories to keep its awards relevant. The new categories will honor hit movies with global reach in either box office or streaming views, as well as, acknowledge the best performance in a stand-up comedy special. Specifically, the Golden Globe for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category will feature nominees from among the year’s highest-earning or most-seen feature films that also delivered creative excellence. Each one of the eight nominees should have grossed at least $150 million in worldwide box office receipts during release, $100 million of which must have come from domestic American or Canadian theaters. Alternatively, films can be nominated without meeting these box office thresholds if they achieve commensurate viewership, based on data (i.e. streaming counts, etc.) from recognized industry sources.
