30 & Married

Kendo, aka Kenneth Docherty, made several "age in the title" features for Marc Dorcel, all of which I found wanting in quality. Apparently the man was affected enough by the experience to direct this satellite TV- generated junker similarly titled.

Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with marriage or even the title age, just consisting of five unrelated vignettes in the all-sex genre. Ken prattled on in one of his BTS rants about how significant the placing on or removing of the wedding ring was to the thematics of one of his earlier features, but here even that specious content is missing.

Instead we see Eastern European beauties, Kendo's favorite talent pool, humping Eastern European studs, from which one can infer this was shot in Budapest or Prague. In any case, their mechanical, aloof approach to sex is boring, and not helped by the auteur's insistence on some color distortion and occasional fancy editing, neither of which can successfully combat the drowsiness he's generating in the viewer.

Docherty's strength has always been in fetichism, how he made his name in the industry in the first place, but this DVD is more generic than usual - lacking the tactile absorption with panty-hose, thigh-highs or footwear that ordinarily marks his work.
