Rio Heroes

I started watching this series by total chance, with no expectation at all, and surprisingly found it interesting. Amazingly, it's based on real events, taking some creative liberties for narrative coherence. The acting is solid, though not exceptional. The narration style, inspired by Elite Squad voice over, adds fluidity, even though Murilo Rosa is not half as good as Wagner Moura. If you enjoy MMA, this show delivers.

Its very laughable to watch this show expecting art-house cinema, any comparisons are absolutely nonsense and misplaced. The series' violence and machismo reflect its real-life protagonistas, so it had to be there.

Worth watching, the two seasons are concise and coherent. I'm impressed they didnt make more noise in Brazil.
