Asso di picche - Operazione controspionaggio

Georgio Ardisson, (agent 3S3), who was labelled THE ITALIAN JAMES BOND during the Euro-Spy era during the mid 1960s, is sent to Istanbul, Turkey to destroy a madman's secret underground lair. Georgio captures the essence of the Italian Super Spy in this lively romp across Europe leading to a stunning conclusion. His code name is ACE OF SPADES but only uses it once at a casino with the lovely Thea Fleming. He impersonates a thief in order to steal documents on the madman which causes him concern. He captures 3S3 and tortures him but of course he escapes and chases him to his bunker in the desert. After a huge fight all rights are wronged etc.

A large part of the movie was filmed in the downtown area of Istanbul by the famous Blue Mosque. (I have added movie stills to the main page of IMDB showing some of the action).

I met and interviewed Georgio Ardisson in 1983 and found him to be a nice guy. He certainly looked the part of a famous Secret Agent.

This is one of the better Euro-Spy entries with non stop action and plenty of female interest to behold.

In 2021 there is now a complete color version available on DVD. It is only released in Italian with no subs. I never understand why distributors don't add subs? It would certainly increase their sales.
