Noce i dnie

The film was nominated for an Oscar and the Academy's big mistake was that it didn't win the award. Both the main and supporting actors did a great job, they played masterfully, everyone played their role as if it was the most important one for the film. Everyone plays wonderfully here, from the characterful and expressive Barbara and the docile Bogumil to the simple and direct cook Zarnecka. The music is unique and heartwarming, the dialogues are perfect, the costumes match the times in which the action takes place. The scene with the water lilies is one of the most beautiful scenes in all the films I have ever seen. And this Kazanecki waltz, wonderful. If you haven't watched it, be sure to catch up, or even better, watch the series with the same title, thanks to which you will feel the taste of this masterful cinema for a longer and deeper time.
