Thanks to his grandfather Emilio, Jean has secretly learned to become a champion in the sport of Provençal bowls (aka "pétanque" ). Emilio wants, through his grandson, to avenge his son Antoine, who committed suicide twenty years earlier, ruined at this game by Fabiani.

First theatrically released movie by José Dayan , who essentially worked for TV ;the cast ,including a legend such as Serge Regianni -with a fake Provençal accent _and first class supporting actors such as Patrick Bouchitey and Julien Guiomar, promised good things ;prologue in black and white ; but eventually a sluggish movie, the umpteenth story of the corrupt world of sport.
