Having worked an afternoon shift for many years, I never watched the series until the last year. I was caught up in the story so quickly due to the fabulous acting by all the actors. I was born in the early thirties to family of six who went through many of the experiences in the story. We lived in a small town, went to a parochial school and saw our only brother off to war by train. Our greatest pleasure was playing outside with the neighborhood kids, swimming in the lake, and listening to the radio. Watching Wind At My Back is a very nostalgic experience. Many memories surfaced, both good ones and bad, which enabled me to work through some of the painful ones with a very different perspective. It felt as if the actors were my family and friends living in my neighborhood. I really miss this series and feel so proud that it was Canadian. I'd love to see a reunion of all these lovable actors. The whole crew did an outstanding job and I thank them so much for enriching my life.
