A Political Cartoon

A wonderful, whimsical variation on the themes of power and politics. Perhaps even more poignant now then it was during Nixon's regime. The apparent absurdity of two progressives running an animated character for President evolves into a witty exploration of the complicity of all who are involved with corrupting the best of intentions. The film's trajectory goes beyond the usual suspects, and indicts not only the media as hearing what they want/expect to, but all of us as well. Shot on a shoestring in the Boston suburbs (I was a fortunate volunteer student PA) the film transcended expectations and was critically praised. The Morrows were ahead of their time, and inspired following generations to create art of quality with the resources available. Well worth a look!
