I watched The Teenage Textbook on its official opening day, and I must say that only half the cinema was full. Anyway, that's besides the point: the movie is quite funny, and the actors are so-so, but the casting isn't good. From the book, I always envisioned Kok Sean as a tall person with a very spoilt-rich-kid kinda look, but he is cast as a short guy, and Mui Ee is quite ugly. Speaking about the book, the movie won't make much sense to you if you don't read it. It moves much quicker and you won't really *really* understand what's going on if you've never read the book before. They also left out some stuff from the book, but it's understandable that a movie version would have to do that. However, this fast-movingness is quite bad because it doesn't really emphasise the feelings of the characters well. Besides that, the movie is quite funny, but not very substantial.
