From 1948-1956, the team of Wally Vernon and Eddie Quillan made a series of two-reel comedies for Columbia Pictures. Moviegoers have considered this series to be the most violent because of its heavy-handed slapstick. Vernon previously appeared in a Glove Slingers short, Fresh as a Freshman, so that probably made him a veteran of the studio's shorts department.
This short is a remake of the 1937 Collins and Kennedy short Bury the Hatchet, which is said by Quillan at various stages of the short. Vernon and Quillan are feuding neighbors who wind up purchasing the same new house and must live together, which soon turns into a nightmare for all family members involved. Being this is directed by Jules White, you know what to expect.
