The Prince and the Nature Girl (1965)
* 1/2 (out of 4)
A Prince (Jeffrey Niles) breaks away from his palace five days a work to work a "normal" job in secret. At that job he begins to have feelings for a certain woman but he is shocked to see that she belongs to a nudist colony.
THE PRINCE AND THE NATURE GIRL is not a take off on the Monroe-Olivier film but it's pretty much your standard nudie film from Doris Wishman. I'm going to be upfront and honest and say that the nudie cutie really isn't my favorite genre because it's really hard to do anything original or even fun with it. It seems everyone of these films follows the same format. A "new" person is shocked by nudity and then gets to see what's so great about it. We see volleyball playing. Nude swimming. Everything that you've seen in other nudie pictures is on display here as well.
This here was a really low-budget and Wishman shoots a lot of it without the actor's faces at the camera so that the dubbing would be easier. Up until recently this here was a lost picture but a print was found in German and a new English audio track was added onto it. I know some people have complained about this new track but I didn't find it too bad and in honesty I thought it sounded pretty authentic for the era. With that said, I'm sure fans of Wishman will want to see the film considering how rare it was at one time but there's really nothing too special here.
