On the day of her marriage Hema Malini refused to shoot for Kranti. Hema shot for Razia Sultan in the morning and then sent the message to Manoj Kumar's unit that she was ill and did not want to shoot. The real reason Hema did this was because she was required to wear a white saree for a scene. The saree represented her being a widow. She did not want to do that scene on her wedding day . When Manoj Kumar later found out the real reason for her not reporting to the sets , he had a good laugh and call to wish Dharmendra on his wedding .

A scene from near the end of the movie Dilip Kumar's charactor Sanga catches fire while pulling a cart trying to save Minakshi. This scene was cut from the video version.
