Saathi

Sathi is one of the genre of crime films Madhu acted in. He is a small time pickpocket, but his mother (Kaviyoor Ponnamma) is under the illusion that he works in a big firm which has odd working hours. Madhu happens to meet the villain who makes him an offer but Madhu refuses. The villain's mole (Radhamani) is attracted towards Madhu. One day Madhu pickpockets a poor man (Mohan-probably Vincent) who had stolen Rs.3000 from the villain to send it to his village where his mother & sister live in poverty. The money was to be given to the landlord who had mortgaged their ancestral property. Shocked by the loss of Rs.3000 Mohan commits suicide. Madhu feels guilty and goes to the Mohan's village where he meets his sister, Jayabharathy and mother.. They think that Mohan has a good job in Bombay and Madhu is his friend. Madhu tries to tell the truth but can't. He gives the money to the landlord and rushes back to Bombay. Jayabharathi & her "maman" (Shankaradi) come to Bombay in search of Madhu. Madhu tells Jayabharathi that Mohan has gone to a business tour and marries her. In order to trap the villain, Madhu marries Radhamani who has fallen in love with Madhu. She tells Madhu all about the villain and he is arrested. Radhamani is shattered to learn the Madhu has married and tells Madhu's mother that he is a pickpocket. Shocked, Kaviyoor Ponnamma commits suicide.
