There is an element of mystery involved in the making of "L'Affaire Marcorelle" directed by Serge Le Péron. He must have thought of directing a thriller film but the end result was completely different. It can be said that contrary to expectations,he has ended up making a comedy film.He takes us into the strange world of criminal justice system where there are judges who would not hesitate to ruin anybody who comes their way.The fans of famous French actor Jean Pierre Léaud would surely enjoy this film as their hero has a remarkable presence in it. Irène Jacob also has an important role in this film as she amazes everybody with her portrayal of an enigmatic whore from Poland.Although she is a french actress, she manages to speak with perfect ease french with an East European accent.A nice tribute to the world of cinema is paid in the form of various scenes of old films from silent cinema era. Although Mathieu Amalric has got a small role,it appears that he has made all efforts to convince viewers to watch this film. This is not really the case as Serge Le Péron's suffers enormously from its characterization as too many characters have been included in a feature film which could have easily controlled their growing influence and numbers.
