It commemorates two saints: Roman Emperor Constantine the Great (reigned 306-337) and Elena, his mother and Augusta during his reign. They are typically commemorated together. "Konstantinos" is the Greek form of the name "Constantine", and Eleni the Greek form of the names "Helen"/"Helena".

Konstadinos Katakouzinos: Hello, Eleni...
Eleni Vlahaki: How are you, Kostadinos?
Konstadinos Katakouzinos: Fine. Fine... I wanted...
Eleni Vlahaki: And I wanted to hm... umm.. tell you...
Konstadinos Katakouzinos: Tell you! Yeah. I also wanted to tell you...
Eleni Vlahaki: Yeah, I wanted to tell you, that, I, didn't...
Konstadinos Katakouzinos: I also didn't...
Eleni Vlahaki: Yeah, I didn't,
Konstadinos Katakouzinos: Didn't d-d-d-not... Water!
Eleni Vlahaki: D-d-d-?
Konstadinos Katakouzinos: I didn't drink water, and, I was going, now, downstairs, to drink some water...
Eleni Vlahaki: Yes, that's what I wanted to tell you too... that I wanted - Forget, I'll get water for both...
Konstadinos Katakouzinos: No, Please! I'll bring *you* water.
Eleni Vlahaki: No, it's all right. I'll bring water. It's no problem. What if I hold two glasses instead of one?
Konstadinos Katakouzinos: No, it's okay, I insist, I'll bring water upstairs.
Eleni Vlahaki: *Come on. Don't make me angry for a glass of water!*
Konstadinos Katakouzinos: I'm not thirsty anymore... Good night.

Apart from the lack of any character development through the series, which is typical for this kind of comedy, this series makes some powerful statements about today's Greece, using a very smart sense of humor : On one hand the old ideas and tradition, represented by Konstadinos, the professor and Matina, next door neighbor, versus the new way of living in todays Greece, represented by Helen, the waitress and Manthos, the spoiled son of a wealthy entrepreneur.
The lesson to be learned is that the different issues that arise, will sometimes be solved easier with traditional methods, some other times with unconventional ideas, but most of the times it takes a combination of both to make things work.
The end of the series, the rule of opposites attraction, is the natural happy end that every viewer was hoping for from the first episode.
