I know the director of this film so I got a chance to see it years ago when I was a kid and then again recently when he started making bigger movies. Eric Forsberg is a very talented director and he has a great eye for the street and bizarre. He also uses a lot of the same people in his films like Chuck Schneider who played a few roles in Andy and was also in the director's films alien abduction and night of the dead, Leben Tod.
First, David LaTerre did a great job. As well as co-writing it, although I hear there was never a real script, David starred in it and was just super and subtle and honest. Eric plays in this movie also as the best friend and was like an old fashioned silent movie actor in the best way. Oh, did I mention, this film has no dialog. It is like a fly on the way look at the visual like of the streets in Boston in the late seventies and early 80s. Very cool. But my favorite characters were the ones that looked like they came off the street. the ones that never acted or were caught off guard. It's just a good film. Of course, Eric made it with his food money and so it is really an inexpensive film. It was shot on 16mmm or super 8mm or a mix. It won some awards too when it first came out.
Anyway, I'm glad that this film is getting a re release, or so I was informed. I hope it gets out there where it belongs. See it for the history and the amazing sense of youth.
