A relevant movie even today . Bharat Gopi and his wife Sharada live with their two children with his older brother , his wife and his two kids and their mum. They are an ideal family always prancing and dancing around . The older brother suddenly gets bitten by a mad dog and contacts Rabis . He dies a horrific death in front of the entire family . Sad and sullen , Bharat Gopi , a tailor by profession gets down to business and takes care of the entire load . Sadly , the older brother's young widowed innocent wife is duped by some one and taken to the city on the pretext of giving a job . With the loss of both the parents, the two kids totally depend on Sharada and Bharat Gopi now . The mother too dies broken in spirit slowly , The girls now grown up , Rani Padmini and a very young ambika are always up to pranks . Ratheesh , the son of the older brother turns out to be a creep and is always looking for easy money . Bharat Gopi's own son goes missing due to the problems in the family . The entire situation is chaotic . Ratheesh and Rani track down their mother inadvertently who is in dire needs and now belongs to a very low strata . Sad and depressed , both return back . Ratheesh marries a very rich girl and keeps his status and back ground hidden from her . Rani too mends her ways and returns back to domesticity . Finally the prodigal son returns much to his old parents' happiness. The movie finishes on a happy hopeful note. A very strong formula even today . Over all a fine movie .
