In the traditional Confucian teaching, it is not acceptable for a man to marry a woman who is much older than him, but it is all right for the opposite, and this traditional believe are still rooted deeply in the minds of most Chinese. This film is a masterpiece in that it openly challenge this dross in the traditional culture by correctly pointing out that age does not matter, what matters is true love.
