I don't agree with the other harsh judgement I read here about this series. It came out twice in German Children's channel over Christmas (2005 and 2006) and Germans are known to be quite critical when it comes to TV series around Christmas time. There must have been a statistical research underlying this decision to repeat it another year. May be the quality is sufficient for children, who have a lot more imagination and are far more interested in a good story and less interested in good actors.
My two daughters saw it both years and this year they enjoyed it as if it was new. Apparently it is fascinating for them to image what would happen when .... and to realise that Jesus has been child with the same struggles like they have. It is an attempt to explain the meaning and consequence of Jesus' birth for today's children. I recommend it to parents who are not afraid to expose their children to Christian content, like prayer, struggle between good and evil and childlike trust in God.
