Innocence: Wild Child

Someday I will receive a valid explanation of why Michael Ninn is held so highly in Adult Film circles (not any circles I belong to, for sure). He's won awards and been name-dropped endlessly over the past two or three decades, but every time I watch one of his features or videos I make like Peggy Lee with a "Is that all there is?" reaction. Perhaps IMDb, in its infinite wisdom and pithiness, sums it all up succinctly: "Before entering the adult-film industry as a director, he directed music videos for Capitol Records."

His work reminds me of a slightly younger Brit Porn counterpart name of Kendo - both men favor the "splintered" editing, repeated images, and abstract "artistic" approach to porn that generally leaves me cold. And it seems both men have not a mini-me to make them look good a la Mike Myers, but rather a mysterious feminine protegee to crank out videos resembling each master's work, only softer.

In this case we have one Halle/Kalli Vanderhyden, the director of the "Innocence" series for Ninn's label, using his regular crew. If you search the name "Vanderhyden" you coincidentally turn up Vimeo, a video sharing service for amateurs who have creative tendencies, an apt coincidence indeed for watching this XXX version of same.

The girls are attractive and ethnically diverse enough to grab one's attention on "Wild Child", but Vanderhyden's approach has glaring drawbacks. She uses white- on-white backdrops, against which a colorful piece of furniture, usually a couch, is set to hold the humpers. Then a dizzyingly tedious set up of revolving stage (or maybe camera mount -it amounts to the same result) is used to swivel the image while the couple f*cks away to their hearts' content. All this did was remind me of those hypnotic (and quite boring) exercise sex-tease videos of 25 or 30 years ago made by Ron what's-his-name that I used to watch on cable.

So much ado about nothing here, as we watch admittedly pretty women get pounded by guys with big dicks. On that front, Keri Sable, who I've enjoyed in many a story-line feature film, handles the huge cock of Julian, who made just as many story features as her but never did anything remotely like acting in them -basically just showing up, displaying his unique tattoo-ed back, and then presenting his rock-hard dick to the camera. Other wonders like Marie Luv and Fallon pick up a paycheck as well, no doubt signed by Michael Ninn.
