Wäg vo de Gass!

This movie was produced during a heated phase in the development of the Swiss drug policy. Several years earlier, Switzerland started to allow the medical prescription of heroin to otherwise incurable users and to provide safe places to consume it. This worked reasonably well but has caused much resistance in the more conservative circles of the population. Several referenda were held in order to decide over the continuation of this policy. This movie was heavily promoted by the "liberal" side in this debate. It premiered in Zurich, the most affected city, was screened in cinemas in all major Swiss cities and has since been shown several times on Swiss television.
