I went into this blind, and first of all, i have seen two other movies directed by the director. One being Sweet Whip which was an amazing movie, second one being Freeze Me, which was fine. This movie is such a mixed bag.
We follow an actress known as Koyoko or something like that, she explains the three movies she is working on. However, the movie begins to shift and from being a movie, it turns into actual events that happened in her life. Like her being a prostitute, and her husband cheating on her with other actresses (outside the casting), and her horrible relationship with her husband... The film slowly and slowly shifts into her actual life, after of which it turns out that she is actually being interviewed by a psychiatrist which i though was a nice touch.
I actually did not expect the scene when she actual executes her husband and the actress. The most powerful scene in the movie, and when her "protector" Okuoko (sorry if i miss wrote their names since i am not Asian), seeing that he actually was there since she was little when she was a singer!
Acting wise everything seems fine, there really is not a lot of gore in this movie, there might just be one or two scenes that have a bit of blood, but it's nothing really that will stun you, or disturb you. I do not have any negatives for this movie except one thing, and that's the plot.
I am going to be honest with you. The first half of this movie was pretty boring and dull. The first hour or so you might not be so interested in this. However, the second half kinda picks it up. I think this movie requires second viewing, because there is no force you can pick up on everything when watching for 1st time.
I also think this movie could of been cut in half honestly. I think the first half could of been cut to about 20-30 minutes, not 60. That's the only negative i got, is that the first half is not really that fun.
This is one of those films you'd have to watch again in order to get the whole picture i think...
