The Sesame Street 50th Anniversary Special is neat. Hosted by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the special focuses on a lot of key moments in Sesame Street history, as well as a sort of plot where Elmo, Abby, Rosita, and Cookie Monster find the Sesame Street sign is missing and need to find it before the photo op.
It is a good special. Basically, one of its main things is bringing back every retired Muppet that was ever made, as the likes of Don Music, Sherlock Hemlock, and even the original Captain Vegetable return. Even our old friend, Kermit The Frog, manages to take time off from being Disney's property to appear in a musical number alongside Elvis Costello. Other funny moments include Cookie Monster trying to save Gunther (while being outdone by Sterling K. Brown.
And while it's good to see all these Muppets, there are some things I don't like. One segment, which is composed of classic Sesame Street scenes like the grown-ups meeting Snuffy, have Joseph inserted into them, which ruins the nostalgia of such scenes, and the forgotten muppets don't get much time to shine (Kermit being the only exception since he is owned by Disney, and Sesame Workshop probably didn't want to pay too much money to use him for more than one scene). This is still a good special.
