The Unsinkable Titanic

As they approach the iceberg the order is give hard to starboard but the ship moves to port and since it is the starboard or right side of the ship which is damaged they passed the iceberg to the right of the titanic if they had turned the ship to starboard the damage would have been on the port or left side, so they got the direction correct they clearly should have said hard to port and not hard to starboard.
