A brief verification of facts: this clip here was released back in 2022 in Capital Inicial's first album after the successful unplugged
album of early 2000 which marked their return to the form a lost decade in the 1990's. They were huge in the 1980's, then slowed down and almost
broke up in the 1990's and the unplugged album and "Rosas e Vinho Tinto" put them back in shape for a new generation to discover, and that includes
myself since I never heard of them before since I wasn't much into the musical scenery. I became a fan afterwards. So, the date release on the
website stating 2011 goes back to the internet release, but MTV played this with a burning passion and this single became a huge hit, the very
first from that album.
Compared to their dated 1980's videos this one by Capital Inicial, with veteran members Dinho Ouro Preto, Flávio Lemos and Fê Lemos and newcomer
Yves Passarell is a real treat when it comes to presenting their performance on a crowded club. The storyline involving the pretty boy who wakes
up in desperation and keeps on waiting for his alleged girlfriend to return is kinda idiotic and strange, specially if we consider how it all ends
when they meet again at band's gig. Nothing makes sense and I won't spoil the very ending of this. I just disagree with what it's presented, just find
that when he's alone in his room, smoking one cigarette after another anxiously waiting for a call he'll never get, that's when the clip got a true
spirit and true state of mind. We've all been there.
"À Sua Maneira" is a potent song that marked an era (the early 2000's) and it's so good that you actually forget that this is a Brazilian
version of a foreign song - of which it took me almost a decade to found out until I accidentally hear it on the radio thanks to another cover, this
here made by Paralamas do Sucesso. Not even Dinho knew about Paralamas version (coming from an Argentinean group) until he presents his version.
Of the three, Capital is the most famous around here, played even today. Check it out, fans or not. 8/10.
