American Cryptids

This is not my preferred genre of film. And I arrived just as the film began so I lost out on my seat. I stood there, eyes glued to the screen start to finish. I couldn't leave for a moment to go get popcorn. For me to stand and be that interested speaks volumes to how good this film is. Nothing awkward, or out of place, no corny dialogue, no boring parts, no cliches. This is a first rate film with first rate actors. Go see it.

From the tone set by the score chosen, to the coloring and camera work, to the A+ ensemble cast. All the characters really do hold their own. It's funny without trying to be. It's heartfelt while still gritty. The sound design is crazy too. A fresh take on what cryptids are today. Also a good allegory for how divided the country is at the moment. We've been fighting so fiercely and so long we don't even know why we're fighting for anymore. Would watch again and again. A true cult fans dream movie 🍿

Love monsters and all things mythical? And who doesn't love a great fight, right? Then this is for you! When your family bloodline calls, you listen. Creature or not. The blood will squirt and limbs will fly! Comedy will ensue and gasps will fill the air. Which family will you side with in this monster vs hunter feud gets messy?

American Cryptids is a great follow up from director to watch Erynn Dalton's Big Easy Queens. The movie is fun AND scary. Movies like this really show me that quality films can be made outside of the bloated Hollywood system, especially the script by master scribe Joseph Zettlemaier. The script kept me involved in the characters and plot, and matched with Dalton's direction, I had a great time during the movie's entire duration. If you like scary movies and are looking for an entertaining movie under two hours, American Cryptids is well, well worth your time.

What can I say about it? The story is quite boring. The acting is bad, but I've seen worse and some b-movies are actually funny to watch just because of the bad acting, but sadly not this one.

Artistically speaking I could probably make something better with just my phone.

I would have given this at least 2 stars for somewhat trying in some parts but considering the amount of 10-star rating this is obviously beeing rated by every cast member and their families since nowhere in **** would someone give this even a near 10. Feels like those votes are bought so to counter it a bit, here's one star (since just a half star can't be chosen).
