When I came to know AP Arjun is directing a story written by Arjun Sarja and starring Dhruva Sarja, I should've sensed from a mile away how mediocre the film is gonna be. Ravi Basrur's bgm aren't my favorites but this was even worse than all his previous works. Arjun Sarja's previous directorial works (especially those starring his daughter) were goofy, so it would be natural he's going to mess up with Dhruva Sarja's Martin. But this time the director is AP Arjun who had given some decent rom com hits to Dhruva Sarja before. His direction was ok in some scenes but in all others it fails miserably.
There were twists in first half. Though they were all predictable, some came off a surprise due to screenplay style. And just when I started to feel this is going to be good, it started to go down again. And this time it messed up even badly, with choppy editing, a loud and jarring senseless bgm, weird dialogue delivery (there's a dialogue that rhymes martin with protein), tanks, bikes, bombs, green screen deserts, cgi fights, and many more!
There were some good camera shots but those were very few. The color grading is average. Other production values are barely decent. The only good thing about the movie is that they didn't reveal anything in the trailer. They deliberately kept the audience's expectations low so that this film can at least be called "average" when it's below that! There were no comedy scenes in the movie (at least better considering how vulgar kfi's comedies are), perhaps because the film itself is a joke?!
There is everything in the movie except a logical story and good direction. Better to skip, unless you want to hide inside a theatre for whatever reason.
