As a Nigerian, I am so proud and inlove with this film! From the drama to conversations, to important lesson surrounding love. Adire is one of the many films fhat one has to have cultural awareness first, before rating.
It managed to encompass the values and experiences of Nigerians and spoke on the social issues of Nigerians. And it did this beautifully with humor embedded, too. The actors were amazing - from the main character, to the women of the church, I thoroughly enjoyed it all. If you're not African or share similar cultural values, I can understand why many of the beloved pieces of this movie could be lost on you. NOLLYWOOD has come such a long way. I'm really proud of this writing, and the incredible actors. 10/10
I look forward to more Nollywood movies like this on Netflix, and more of those writers, directors and actors. Cheers!
