Blood Brother (2013)
Blood Brother is the story of a group of children infected with HIV and Rocky Braat, a disenchanted young American that met them while drifting through India. He wanted to save them all, but in reality he couldnÂ’t cure even one of them. He had to stay. ItÂ’s a hard life. He faces opposition in many forms. He lives in a concrete hut. Sometimes, he is close to despair. The truth is, he needs them as much as they need him. They teach him, daily, that love is the only thing that makes life worth living.

      Steve Hoover: When Rocky made the decision to move to India, I thought he was being impulsive, but I tried to be supportive. We'd been best friends for ten years, lived together for seven. I assumed he would always be around. It's been a year and a half since he left. He's asked me to come see him, but I haven't gone. We've kept in touch through email and Skype. He talks a lot about the kids and their struggles with HIV. His visa was rejected, so I'm on my way to pick him up at the airport. Rocky really didn't want to leave India, but I think it'll actually be good for him. To be honest, a part of me hoped Rocky wouldn't make it in India.

    Wow!

    The most moving Documentary I have ever seen. The editing was great. It was like we were there with them. I was moved by the day to day struggles, and hungered for the little victories. Some parts were difficult to watch. You will want to bring tissue paper for this one. There really are no films or documentaries that are similar, but Rocky's Journey does remind me of the Journey that Mother Teresa took. His life is a brilliant example of what love is. Well done. I was frustrated for driving over 30 miles to go see it. Having seen it, I would gladly drive 300. I look forward to hearing more about the hostel and opportunities to make a difference.
