Director and writer Syed Salahuddin Zaki said in an interview that the story of this film will take place after the events of Ghuddi (1980). Krantikaal also features the timeless classic song from Ghuddi (1980), "Abar Elo Je Sandhya", performed by noted singer Happy Akhand.
