Kapetan Mihalis

Firstly sorry for my English, I am from Heraklio, Crete. I saw the film because Kazantzakis is a top worldwide writer.

Either the director Charalabous (not from Crete) don't Know many people from Crete or he is prejudiced by some he was dissapointed. All the people from Crete in his movie were miserable and not at all normal. Either alcoholic, porn or violent. He also had a couple brother and sister! I am 51, I read everyday for 30 years local newspaper and I never read about brother and sister in love! Only their love for the island is true.

I wish another director restore the name of the book Kapetan Michalis. I recommend you to search and watch Smaragdis "El Greco" or "Kazantzakis" etc movie.

Actors and scenery were very good, so I rate for 3 stars.
