The film is a tour-de-force of a family entertainer combined with gay drama combined with songs (and no dance!), with sharply etched characters who display a wide range of emotions effectively. The cinematography is beautiful and consistent, and looks like a commercial film.
The two songs - the opening one sung by Shaan and the love duet - both are peppy and are sure to hit the charts. The song by Vishal & Rekha Bhardwaj is a sensitive and heartrending outline of longing and pathos. The lyrics are soul touching. Only I wish the song played out completely in one go instead of in parts.
The two lead boys are cute and comfy with each other, and the Swedish boy adds a bit of charm. But it is Mona Ambegaonkar and Shishir Sharma as the mother & father who steal the show.
Watch out for the track with the uncle and aunt. Can't reveal more coz it will be a spoiler.
