She returned to Portsmouth from Los Angeles and first worked as a hair stylist. She eventually became a phlebotomy technician at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. She loved the beaches of Haiti and chose to support the St. Boniface Foundation, a charity supporting the poor in Haiti. Her obituary showed that she wanted any gifts or donations to be sent to the Foundation.
