... I love anime films like Miyazaki's Spirited Away and I do love sci-fi, both anime and live action. I feel like so much is possible when you take away the confines of current invention - if that makes sense - and open it up to what might be coming in the future or in an alternate world. It's thrilling. The Martian Chronicles was a TV miniseries that did that for me when I was younger in Japan. I was so excited to be in Shockwave Darkside for this reason; my character The Machine has lived on the moon her whole life and it was a fun challenge to get into making this sci-fi world into a reality for me.
