Stu (Stuart) & Ollie

Two men literally bump into each other on a busy London street; two very different people in very different walks of life, but yet with an old connection from university days.

There is a lovely level of British awkwardness about this film, and it is a type of "being" that I appreciate even more as I work with a lot of Americans for whom this situation would never occur, and my own reluctance to raise things directly is more clear to me. In this short scene the Stu (Stuart) is recognized by the other man (Ollie) from their university days, albeit with Stu (Stuart) perhaps not having as clear a memory as Ollie. The scene plays out as you would expect, but it is amusing to see Stuart struggling to remember but yet also trying to cover it, and ultimately having to deal with more awkwardness as he attempts to avoid the initial moment of "sorry, don't remember you at all". It is very nicely shot on Waterloo Bridge, in a way that captures how busy that area normally is, but also manages to be able to pull off the film at the same time – which is pretty impressive.

It isn't as funny as it is breezy, and in the end it is an amusing sketch of manners and not too much more, but it is short enough to be worth a quick look for what it does (and where it does it).
