Panduranga Ramalingam is a struggling saxophonist trying to fit into a world he doesnt quite understand. Panda's got his music, his gay best friend, who thinks America will solve all his problems and Panda's got weed in his life. He befriends an older stand up comedienne KGB or Katyayini Ganapati Bhat who brings some humor and meaning into his life. Hell bent on getting him married his mother tries to set up an arranged marriage for him with an equally awkward but seemingly abrasive girl subbalakshmi with whom he feels an immediate connection. After many years away, Sarah, his ex Fiance returns to Bangalore with her two kids to get away from her abusive husband. 'The chief ruiner of my life' as Panda calls her cant help but think of giving their relationship a second chance. He's looking for love, he's looking for a true beacon of hope for his otherwise hopeless and loveless life destined for the mundane. Here he is confronted by various aspects of the life he left behind, including his overbearing mother. Together with all the complex relationships in his life, Panda learns to heal his old wounds and forges new friendships.

A sombre look at the life of a lonely musician.

The film is a fine example of India's independent film scene. The film is underrated as much as it is misunderstood. It opens like a film that is dealing with a man looking for romance and love. But hidden deep in its layers is a subtle portrayal of an ordinary man looking for meaning in his existence, quite simply looking for a reason to live.

Swaroop kanchi as panda, a struggling musician shines as a complex man- child unsure of his own decisions. His subtle and restrained portrayal seeps into your subconsciousness and its a character that is hard to forget.

Padmavati rao aces her role as Katyayini an older stand up comedienne. Her story unravels in a way that is quite unexpected.

A really good film for anyone interested in good storytelling. It is moving and philosophical with its moments.
