I loved this movie! It takes the modern day as a backdrop to a supernatural war in a way that I've never seen before. Every other similar concept put to film has been bombastic and inevitably leaned into its more fantastical elements, but Clay's Redemption is dark, gritty, and restrained, giving the impression that there's a conflict going on that the participants really don't want to have exposed to the world at large.
Enough information is brought forward for the movie to make sense within its own story, but there are hints to something much greater going on surrounding it. Harking back to the movies of the 70's and 80's, it is presented to work as a standalone movie, but the audience will be left with many questions that could be answered in sequels and there are plenty of hooks that would make that a possibility.
If you're a fan of movies like Blade Runner or a fan of the World of Darkness tabletop RPG franchise, you would owe it to yourself to give this movie a watch. A suspenseful noir thriller punctuated with tight action beats and steeped in supernatural intrigue.
