"L'Extravagante Mission " is a pleasant little comedy ,the beginning of which is not unlike that of Gerard Oury's "Le Corniaud" (1964).A naive guy is asked to take a yellow briefcase to Asia .Of course he must not
open it,but as "the transporter" showed us,rules are made to be broken. In exchange for this favor,he will go on a cruise on a luxury liner to fulfill his mission::combining business with pleasure!
It's all the more pleasant since several ladies are aboard (Martine Carol,Simone Valère) and he must pass himself off for a marquis (a bit short of the readies when he sails away).he soon discovers that his briefcase is full of stolen money :the more he tries to get rid of the dough, the more he gets rich! And to make the matters worse, the money was stolen from a banker whose daughter is on the ship .
First movie by Henri Calef,it's not representative of his talent as "Jericho" or " Eaux Troubles" would later be .For Calef's Completists.
