      The original cartoon finished with Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam playing a game of Russian Roulette after they find out they both lost the election. This has been edited in most broadcasts, but the cartoon appears complete in the and the earlier international available super 8-mm releases and now in the new DVD release. Update: In 2023-24, the version shown on MeTV Saturday mornings also includes the Russian roulette ending.

      The version aired on the Cartoon Network are cut and fade to black after Yosemite Sam says "mare?" The original ending has Bugs Bunny asking "anyone for Russian Roulette." Sam and Bugs take turn firing the gun. The gun doesn't fire on Sam, but when Bugs fires, it goes off, but Bugs says he missed. The bullet did hit Sam, to which he says "I hate that rabbit."

    "Nobody will vote for a flattened-out rabbit skin, I always say."

    Hilarious Bugs Bunny short that takes a poke at politics. It's directed by Friz Freleng with a story by Warren Foster. Yosemite Sam is running for mayor on an anti-rabbit campaign. Bugs hears this and decides to enter the race to oppose Sam. One laugh after another with great lines and gags. Very nice animation with well-drawn characters and backgrounds. Wonderful Technicolor is always a plus. Excellent voice work from the incomparable Mel Blanc. He does some of his best Yosemite Sam work here. Energetic music from Carl Stalling. My favorite bits were the cee-gar bit and the Emma joke. Oh and that ending is classic. A great Bugs & Yosemite Sam cartoon that is sure to please most fans.
