      Co-writer/co-producer David Chase would go on afterwards to create another famous series, I Soprano (1999). As a little tribute to this series, a scene in a first season episode of The Sopranos is set in a retirement home where the residents are watching television. Though the picture can't be seen, the theme music for Agenzia Rockford (1974) can be heard.

      Throughout the series Rockford's trailer, parked in a parking lot, has electricity and running water, yet there is no evidence of a power line or plumbing attached to the unit. Also, it often changed position: sometimes it was parked parallel to the beach, and sometimes perpendicular to it.

    One of the better shows of all time

    I grew up watching this show, and it's still on cable. I can watch it over and over and still be entertained. Rockford has bad luck, gets hurt, and Chapman at the police office hates him. Somehow, through cons, dirty tricks, smarts, and very slick moves James finds a way to survive. The humor in this show is great. Like the time he soaps the bathroom floor. 10/10
