Alvaro Vitali, for some reason affectionately known as Pierino, starts off this aimless comedy with a monologue about life while his folks are putting him down. Then he goes off on a scooter to stare at pizza parlor babe Adriana Russo's legs, but gets into a fight with some bullies. As title character 'Giggi' he is asking for it, though, wearing some kind of Donald Duck sailor outfit complete with red bow-tie and blue baby hat, making him look a lot younger than he really is. The squeaky voice also helps. As if this was not bad enough, the entire soundtrack is performed by one guy on a synthesizer. Only Randy Edelman can survive that kind of torture.
After Giggi bothers an under aged chick called Raffaela, we meet another group of ugly nerds known as the hideous perm gang. Alvaro tries selling cars, being a pimp and entering a dance contest (in that order) as the story completely spins out of control. Each of these escapades end with him being beat up or his stunt double being thrown out of a window. I like rooting for an an underdog as much as anyone, but enough is too much. The finale features an excruciating Lindy Hop contest. Though the editor tried speeding up the dance moves Britney Spears style to make Pierino's antics slightly more impressive, it's not over soon enough. Use the fast forward button and spare your ears from that synthesizer guy.
