Zei zei zei

It opens with a thief sneaks into a house at night. He overhears a man and woman talking about the problem of thieves sneaking into their house at night. Cut to the old guy mentions his birthday is coming up and continues to discuss the plot. The thief is caught in the act. He is no snitch, he kills himself rather than reveal his boss. Cut to the evil Japanese. A story develops that the evil Japanese are buying Chinese artifacts from a corrupt general and something about rebels.

My copy is a digital file made from an Ocean Shores VHS © 1986. It plays on a HDTV as 4:3 size and is dubbed into English. The voice over actors use cartoonish voices that become irritating.

I have watched over two thousand of these movies and these actors have hundreds of screen credits yet I only recognize the faces of two actors in this movie, Tsai Hung and Tsao Chien. These two are also the only ones who can actually act. By the 20 minute mark the movie was such a mess that only spectacular fight sequences could save it.

The fight sequences were not spectacular. Almost every fight was hand to hand and no weapons or props were used. Hired fighters from other countries were brought into the story but these guys fought the same style as everyone else. What style was that? Bruce Lee mentioned the style of fighting without fighting. These were simply fights without any style at all.

I rate this movie as just average for the year and genre. I watched it once and can't imagine watching it again.
